Matthias Wasinger | Editor in Chief
Mag. (FH) Matthias Wasinger, MOS, Ph. D. is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Defence Horizon Journal. Among other he holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Legal Studies from the University of Vienna and is author of several publications published in books, newspapers, journals, and periodicals.

Ursula Werther-Pietsch | Co-Editor
PD Mag. Dr. Ursula Werther-Pietsch, co-editor of the TDHJ Special Edition, Lecturer of International Law and international Relations at Universities of Vienna and Graz, Diplomatic Academy, and the Bundeswehr University Munich. Published widely, including on human rights, international crisis and conflict management, Women Peace and Security, UN Collective Security System.

Dermot Nolan | Associate Editor
Dermot Nolan has spent 12 years in the Army Reserve in Ireland, where he served in the Artillery Corps. He holds a master's degree in Military History and Strategic Studies, and a master's degree in International Relations and International Security . His work has been published in European Security and by Finabel-The European Army Interoperability Centre.

Phil W. Reynolds | Associate Editor
Phil W. Reynolds, Ph. D. is an expert in liberal war theory and explores issues of the cybernomos, power transition and power cycle theories; irregular and asymmetric conflicts and critical IR. Numerous publications in periodicals and peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of "Ouroboros: The War Machine of Liberalism" and "Modeling Conflict with China." Phil is a retired U.S. Army officer with experience in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Berharnd Seyringer | Co-editor
Bernhard Seyringer, co-editor for "Emerging Technologies," is a geopolitical analyst, strategic communications consultant and author. He is editor of "Future Stories" and "MRV.Report. Bernhard studied Social Sciences at universities in London, Vienna, Oslo and Urbino.

Rebecca Van Pamel | Associate Editor
Rebecca Van Pamel studied at Williams College, where she graduated with highest honors in history and German. She has years of experience in research and has edited multiple publications. Rebecca is currently based in Vienna.

Barlow Najima | Associate Editor
Barlow Najima holds a Bachelors degree in Business Consultancy and a Masters degree in International Leadership and Management. She has gathered experience in both research and copy-editing over the years through volunteering and work placements.

Amit Kumar | Associate Editor
Amit Kumar is a PhD Research Scholar at BITS PILANI, India. His principal area of research is China Studies. He works as a Project Assistant at the Center for African Justice, Peace, and Human Rights, The Hague, The Netherlands. In addition, he is an Adjunct Researcher, The MirYam Institute, New York.

Terlan Djavadova | Assistant Editor
Terlan Djavadova, BA MA, studied Political Science, Oriental Studies and Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna. She is currently writing her master's thesis on the legitimation strategies of Russian foreign policy in the Middle East and the Russian use of private military companies.

Michael Panfil Jr. | Assistant Editor
Michael Panfil Jr. is currently a BA/MA student at Loyola University of Chicago, where he studies Political Science & Government with a focus on War Studies. He hopes to pursue a PhD after he commissions in the U.S. Army in 2024.

Benjamin Zimmer | Assistant Editor
Benjamin Zimmer is a Program Aide with the Economic Statecraft Program at Texas A&M University and holds a Master of International Affairs degree from the Bush School and a BA in History and Asian Studies from UMBC. His research has appeared in NKNews, the Asia Times, Security Challenges, and Charged Affairs among others.

Friederike Santner | Assistant Editor
Mag. Friedarike Santner, Ph. D. is a political scientist and cultural anthropologist with experience in development cooperation, research on migration, election observation and support. She holds a Ph. D. in Political Science.

Alexandra Fabrykowska | Assistant Editor
Mag. Alexandra Fabrykowska, MA studied law and political science at the University of Vienna. Additionally, she completed the program international security at the European Academy of Diplomacy as well as an EU-Experts course. Besides many years of experience in the field of research, she publishes herself in the fields of international politics, space and aeronautical politics, environmental policies and interdisciplinarity.

Maria Thiele | Editor
Maria Thiele is a multilingual journalist with a focus on news documentary production and a specialization on the relations between the European Union and Russia/China. She holds a double Master's in Journalism & Global Communication and Sport Science.
